Tennis Closes Out Day One of ITA DII Regionals

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Southeast Regional Championships today with three Vixens seeing action in the main draw.
 
The doubles pairing of A. Guilarte/Patino took on conference-foes Washington & Lee in the Round of 32, falling to Jennings/Stoltz, 8-4.
 
In singles competition, both senior Isabela Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and junior Ana Patino (Medellín, Colombia) played in the Round of 64 matches.
 
I. Guilarte fell to Hana Kimmey of hosts Mary Washington, 6-1, 6-0 while Patino put up a fight against Zoe Angell of Carnegie Mellon in a three-set 0-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-8) loss.
 
What's Next
The ITA DIII Southeast Regionals will continue tomorrow and Monday with the Vixens' final fall tournament taking place at Goucher on Oct. 8.
