SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College field hockey team 3-6, 0-2 ODAC) fell to the Randolph-Macon College Yellow Jackets (7-3, 1-0 ODAC) this evening at Thayer Field by a score of 4-0 for the program's pride game.
The Yellow Jackets scored the first goal of the game early, taking a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the start of action.
A second goal only five minutes later would increase the visitor's lead to two.
Randolph-Macon went on to capitalize on a chance at the 21:34 mark to take a 3-0 lead entering halftime.
With another goal scored by the Yellow Jackets in the third quarter and a scoreless fourth, the game came to its eventual 4-0 close.
Highlights
- Both senior Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) and first-year Reiyn Hart (Bridgton, Maine) split time in goal totaling a career-high 10 saves on 11 shots faced.
- Sophomore Gigi Hutman (Bordentown, N.J.) led the team with six shots and five shots on goal.
