RUSTBURG, Va. – The No. 1 single discipline Sweet Briar College NCEA team (2-1, 1-1 ODAC) fell to the No. 5 University of Lynchburg Hornets (3-2, 2-1 ODAC) this afternoon by a score of 7-3.
Lynchburg took a 3-2 lead in the meet following the completion of fences as senior
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) and junior
Naomi Dachis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) scored points for Sweet Briar.
Atherton totaled an 84 on Eragon for a four point victory against Maddy Rubin while Dachis's score of 72 on Tommy topped Lucy Metzler by seven points.
On the flat, senior
Ella Peterson (Ashland, Va.) was the lone points-getter for the Vixens thanks to her score of 83 on Copper. Peterson beat her opponent, Emma Schweizer, by 11 points.
Highlights
- Peterson earned her first Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honor of the season.
- In today's meet Peterson also earned her highest score on the flat of the season so far.

The Vixens will conclude the fall season with jumping seat action at South Carolina on Nov. 15th.
