BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Sweet Briar College field hockey team (6-11, 1-7 ODAC) concluded the 2024 season at the Bridgewater College Eagles (11-5, 5-3 ODAC) this evening, falling by a score of 2-0.
After a scoreless first 15 minutes of action, the Eagles got on the board nearly two minutes into the second quarter to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
No goals from either team in the third kept Bridgewater's lead to just one, however, the home team found the back of the net with just five minutes remaining to take the eventual 2-0 victory.
Highlights
- Senior goalkeeper Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) tied her career high with 15 saves.
- Seniors Molly Booth (Orono, Maine) and Lara Jost (Würzburg, Germany) and sophomore Emmi Burdine (Huntington Beach, Calif.) all lead the team in shots.
