HAMPDEN SYDNEY, Va. – The Sweet Briar College swim team (1-4, 0-4 ODAC) dropped its meet against the Virginia Wesleyan University Marlins (2-1, 2-0 ODAC) this afternoon by a score of 152-29 at Hampden-Sydney College.
The Vixens started the meet off with a third-place finish I the 400-meter medley relay with a time of 7:02.19.
Sophomore
Ella Scherrer (Simpsonville, S.C.) kicked off her races with a second-place showing in the 800-meter freestyle thanks to her time of 13:27.27.
In the 50-meter freestyle, first-years
Karissa Boyce (Red Rock, Texas) and
Carlee Minyard (Jacksonville, Fla.) recorded times of 44.45 and 55.43, respectively.
Minyard and senior
Viya Atambayeva (Almaty, Kazakhstan) represented Sweet Briar in the 100-meter freestyle. Atambayeva placed fourth with a time of 1:59.83 while Minyard's time of 2:02.65 earned her fifth place.
First-year
Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) had her best showing in the 400-meter freestyle where her time of 5:04.47 put her in third.
Highlights
- Seitz also placed fourth in both the 200-meter freestyle and the 200-meter IM.
- Both Atambayeva and Boyce earned new personal best times in the 100-meter breaststroke.

The Vixens will face Randolph-Macon on Nov. 15th.
