ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team (9-1, 2-0 ODAC) blanked the Crown College Polars (0-,5 0-0 UMAC) this morning, winning the match by a score of 9-0.
Only three sets were dropped across all doubles matches as the pairings of Bovard/Lima, Bestwick/Minton and Booth/Jones won by scores of 8-1, 8-0 and 8-2, respectively.
In singles play, both first-year
Lucia Bovard (Mount Pleasant, N.C.) and senior
Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) took down their opponents by perfect scores of 6-0, 6-0.
First-year
Guusje van Eekelen (Heeze, Netherlands) took down Annie Doyle in the No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 6-2 while fellow first-year
Maggie Minton (Wytheville, Va.) defeated Jaidence Medina, 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot.
Sophomore
Atty Bestwick (Durham, N.C.) also took home a straight-set victory of 6-1, 6-1 over Amanda Helser in the No. 4 match.
Rounding out the perfect showing for the Vixens was junior
Molly Booth (Orono, Maine) who battled for a three-set 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9) win against Elyse Steffen at No. 6.

- Minton moves to 4-0 in singles during the dual match season and 9-0 overall.
- Bestwick, Booth, Bovard, Lima and van Eekelen all have also not dropped a dual singles match.
What's Next
The Vixens will host Centre for the home opener on March 20th before entering Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play with back-to-back matches against Roanoke and Guilford on March 23rd and 24th.
