SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The No. 1 Single Discipline Sweet Briar College NCEA team (7-2, 4-0 ODAC) fell in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Single Discipline Equestrian Championship meet this morning to the No. 2-seeded University of Lynchburg Hornets (7-2, 2-1 ODAC) by a score of 7-3.
The Hornets pulled away to an early 4-1 lead following the completion of fences competition with the lone point for the Vixens scored by junior
Paige Kennedy (Purcellville, Va.).
Kennedy averaged a score of 83.5 on Dorado to beat out Jacqi Needle by five points.
On the flat, points for Sweet Briar were scored by both senior
Emmy Longest (Hanover, Va.) and junior
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.).
Longest totaled an 84 on Kanye, 10.5 points better than Devyn Borden, while Atherton's score of 86 on Cooley bested her Lynchburg opponent by seven points.

- Kennedy's average score of 83.5 in fences is her highest score so far this season.
- Atherton also totaled a new season-high thanks to her score of 86 on the flat.
