MIDDELTOWN, Pa. – The Sweet Briar College field hockey team (1-3, 0-0 ODAC) competed against the Pennsylvania State University Harrisburg Lions (3-2, 0-0 UEC) for the first time in program history this afternoon, falling by a score of 2-0.
The Lions got the scoring started early after finding the back of the net a little over five minutes into the first quarter of play.
A scoreless second quarter kept the home team's lead to one entering halftime.
Penn State Harrisburg tallied its second of the game at the 32:38 mark while a scoreless fourth quarter brought the contest to its 2-0 close.
In goal, senior
Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) recorded seven saves.
Highlights
- Sophomore Gigi Hutman (Bordentown, N.J.) led the team in shots.
- Both Hutman and junior Carlina Christy (Denver, Pa.) combined to tally all of Sweet Briar's shots on goal.
