BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Sweet Briar College field hockey team (3-11, 1-7 ODAC) wrapped up conference action at the Bridgewater College Eagles (8-8, 4-3 ODAC) this evening, falling by a score of 5-0.

Sweet Briar's defense was forced to withstand a relentless Bridgewater attack from the opening whistle. Sophomore goalie
Reiyn Hart (Bridgton, Maine) made several key saves in the period, turning away multiple shots and demonstrating quick reflexes under pressure. The Vixens conceded the opening goal near the nine-minute mark, but Hart's saves kept the score close.

Bridgewater maintained their offensive momentum, netting two more goals. Hart continued to provide critical resistance, recording additional saves and facing seven shots. The defense was tested repeatedly, with senior
Carlina Christy (Denver, Pa.) contributing on defensive stops alongside Hart's efforts.

The third period saw Bridgewater increase their lead with two further goals, bringing their tally to five. Sweet Briar's defense turned in its strongest quarter statistically, with Hart racking up saves under pressure. Notably, Christy made a defensive save to prevent an otherwise certain goal, showcasing commitment to protecting the cage.
