GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Sweet Briar College volleyball team saw two student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team the organization announced today, Dec. 16th.
Named to the team for the first time in their careers were junior Emily Roberts (Walkertown, N.C.) and sophomore Mila Mutabdzija (Manhattan Beach, Calif.).
Roberts played in all 21 matches for the Vixens in volleyball's return to Sweet Briar this season and led the team in solo blocks with two and tied for second in block assists with five. The North Carolina native also recorded a career-high five kills against Neumann on Nov. 8th.
Mutabdzija saw action in 20 matches and was an integral part of the Vixens' defense. The California native ranked second on the team in digs with 70 and recorded a career-high 10 digs against Mary Baldwin on Oct. 30th.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and have played in 90 percent of the institution's matches or started in 66 percent of the institution's matches.
