DANVILLE, Va. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (0-6, 0-3 ODAC) was bested on the road this evening by the Averett University Cougars (2-2, 1-2 ODAC), 20-3.
Averett controlled the pace of play through the first three-quarters of action and tacked on the first goal of the fourth to bring the score to 18-0.
At the 10:50 mark in the fourth, junior
Victoria Schofield (Towson, Md.) got the Vixens on the board with her 12th of the season off a pass from junior
Ashley Prevet (Nesconset, N.Y.).
First-year
Elise Palazzo (Allentown, Pa.) scored Sweet Briar's second of the game and her first of the season while Schofield's second of the game put the score at 18-3.
The Cougars netted the final two goals of the contest to take the 20-3 victory.
In goal, first-year
Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) totaled 11 saves while sophomore
Lizzie Mehl (Richmond Hill, Ga.) earned five.
