Lacrosse Closes Out 2025 Season Against Virginia Wesleyan

SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (0-13, 0-10 ODAC) closed out the 2025 season at Meyer Field this evening against the Virginia Wesleyan University Marlins (9-8, 5-5 ODAC).
 
The Vixens fell by a score of 26-0 in the final contest.
 
Virginia Wesleyan got the scoring started less than a minute into action and tacked on 13 more goals for the 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
 
Four more goals from the Marlins in the second brought the score to 18-0 at halftime.
 
In the third and final quarter of play, the visitors tallied eight more goals to take the 26-0 victory.
 
Sophomore Lizzie Mehl (Richmond Hill, Ga.) got the start in goal while senior Valen Foster (Bushwood, Md.) saw goalkeeper action for the first time this season.
 
Highlights
  • Five Vixens recorded caused turnovers.
  • Both Foster and junior Ashley Prevet led the team in ground balls with three.
