BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team placed third at yesterday's Zone IV Finals and saw two individual riders advance to Nationals.
Both juniors
Cameron Fox (Williamsburg, Va.) and
Sarah Pastula (Rockford, Mich.) will represent the Vixens as individuals at Nationals after being named Zone IV Champion in introductory flat and Zone IV Champion in limit flat, respectively.
Also competed individually in yesterday's show was junior
Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.) who placed sixth in open fences.
Additionally, Pastula also saw action in limit fences where she placed fourth.
Sweet Briar contested nine different event classes as a team with senior
Emily Roberts (Goochland, Va.) placing first in intermediate flat and third in limit fences.
Senior
Sissy Campbell (Mechanicsville, Va.), junior
Evelyn Clark (Crofton, Md.) and sophomore
Kendel Wickline (Frederick, Md.) rode to second-place finishes in novice flat, limit flat and introductory, respectively.
Fifth-year
Sarah Southard (Culpeper, Va.) saw a third-place finish in open flat while Booth also competed in the open fences class for the team and placed fifth and Pastula placed third in her intermediate fences event for the team.
Highlights
- Sweet Briar has had at least one rider be crowned class Champion in the past three straight Zone Finals.
- Fox and Pastula will contest Nationals as individual riders for the first time in their careers.

Nationals are set for May 1st – 4th at the Tyron International Equestrian Center in Tyron, N.C.
