SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College volleyball team (0-5) continued action at home this evening with a match against Clinton College Bears (6-1). The Vixens ultimately fell in three sets, 4-25, 8-25, 3-25.
During the first set, Sweet Briar started their scoring early off a service error by Clinton. The Bears applied consistent service pressure, but the Vixens were able to capitalize with a few competitive rallies. Despite battling, Sweet Briar dropped the set 25–4.
In the second set, Sweet Briar showed a bit more poise after a kill from junior
Gracyn Wright (Rock Hill, S.C.) and substitutions to shake up its rotation. Sophomore
Mila Mutabdzija (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) provided a highlight with a kill as well. The Vixens finished the set with two kills and 13 total attacks, but ultimately fell, 25-8
Set three saw the Vixens score a handful of points, including a kill from first-year
Rachael Hunt (Willow Spring, N.C.). The set ended 25–3.

What's Next
The Vixens will see action at Mary Baldwin on Sept. 16th before hosting Regent on Sept. 19th.
