STAUNTON, Va. – The Sweet Briar College volleyball team (0-6) fell to the Mary Baldwin University Fighting Squirrels (5-4, 0-0 USA South) tonight by set scores of 25-5, 25-2, 25-9.
In the opening set, Sweet Briar managed two kills, with junior
Gracyn Wright (Rock Hill, S.C.) providing both.
The second set saw the Vixens total two points off a setting error and a service error by the Fighting Squirrels.
Hoping to reset in the third, Sweet Briar once again fought uphill against a balanced Mary Baldwin squad. The Vixens tallied three kills in the set, with first-year
Rachael Hunt (Willow Spring, N.C.) and Wright both finding the floor. The team improved its hitting as well. Despite brief flashes of positive play, Sweet Briar couldn't close the gap and lost the final set 25-9.
Defensive efforts saw the team gather 17 digs.

- Wright led the team in kills.
- Both senior Davis Shifflet (Louisa, Va.) and sophomore Mila Mutabdzija (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) led the team in digs while junior Emily Roberts (Walkertown, N.C.) tallied the only ace for the Vixens.
