Winchester, Va – The Sweet Briar College soccer team (4-2, 0-1 ODAC) opened up Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play against Shenandoah University (2-4-3, 1-0 ODAC), falling by a score of 8-0.
During the first half, Shenandoah struck early with two goals inside the first eight minutes. Despite five saves from junior goalkeeper
Mia Viccora (Fairfax, Va.), Sweet Briar's defense struggled to contain the Hornets. Shenandoah added five more goals before halftime, closing the half with a 7-0 advantage.
In the second half, Sweet Briar regrouped and produced a more disciplined defensive effort. Although Shenandoah continued to control possession, the Vixens limited them to just one additional goal.
