LEXINGTON, Va. – The Sweet Briar College volleyball team (0-17, 0-6 ODAC) battled against the Washington and Lee University Generals (14-2, 6-1 ODAC) and the University of Mary Washington Eagles (5-9, 0-0 C2C) in today's tri-match at Washington and Lee University.
The Vixens fell to the Generals, 3-0, with set scores of 25-10, 25-9, and 25-9, and to the Eagles, 3-0, with set scores of 25-8, 25-17, and 25-12.

Sweet Briar opened the match with its highest kill total of the afternoon, recording five kills. First-year
Nadia Bingham (Chesapeake, Va.) recorded two kills, while sophomore Yeriam Alyah Dávila Gerena (Rîo Grande, Puerto Rico) and first-years
Kylee Coxe (Paris, Ill.) and
Allie de Moet (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) recorded one each. Despite the strong offensive effort by the Vixens, Washington and Lee took the set, 25-10.
The second set saw five ties and two lead changes, but Washington and Lee eventually pulled away for a 25-9 victory. Sweet Briar was still able to total four kills in the frame. Bingham led the charge for the Vixens' offense in the second set with three kills of her own.
In the third set, Sweet Briar again registered four kills. Sophomores
Jaelyn Wood (Charlottesville, Va.) and
Rachael Hunt (Willow Spring, N.C.) and first-years
Amanda Mason (Sunrise, Fla.) and Bingham all recorded one kill each. The final frame included two ties and two lead changes. Washington and Lee closed out the match with another 25-9 win.
vs. University of Mary Washington
In the first set, Sweet Briar struggled to establish its attack, and Hunt recorded the only kill of the frame. Mary Washington took the opening set, 25-8, without a tie or lead change.
The Vixens delivered their strongest offensive performance in the second set, tallying six kills and three service aces from de Moet. Bingham recorded three kills while fellow first-years
Kayla Rogucki (Fredericksburg, Va.),
Addison Garner (Elizabeth City, N.C.), and Cox registered one each. The frame featured one tie and the match's only lead change, but Mary Washington ultimately claimed the set, 25-17.
Sweet Briar added six kills in the third set, matching its second-set total. Garner recorded three kills while Bingham, Hunt, and Rogucki recorded one each. Mary Washington closed out the match with a 25-12 victory.
