RUSTBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team concluded Saturday's competition at Liberty in a tie for Reserve Champion.
Sophomore
Emily Viger (Springfield, Va.) was named High Point Rider after winning both the limit fences and limit flat classes.
Also taking victories in their respective classes were senior
Evelyn Clark (Crofton, Md.) and sophomore
Natalia Alvini-Moore (Middletown, Del.) in limit fences and novice, respectively.
Junior
Madeleine Gardephe (New York, N.Y.) saw a second-place finish in introductory, while first-year
Sarah Chapin (Jamestown, N.C.) placed second in intermediate flat.
First-year
Sadie Swift (Leonardtown, Md.) came second in open fences and also saw a third-place finish in open flat.
Rounding out the field for the Vixens were senior
Sarah Pastula (Rockford, Mich.) and first-years
Josie Flannery (Orange, Va.),
Cameron Hope (White Stone, Va.) and
Sophia Peterson (Ashland, Va.), who all placed fourth in their competition classes. Pastula competed in the intermediate fences class, Flannery in open flat, Hope in limit flat and Peterson in novice.
Highlights
- Clark qualified for Regionals in the limit fences class.
- Pastula will make an appearance at Regionals in intermediate fences.
What's Next
The Vixens will host Region 4 Finals on Feb. 21st.
