SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team saw success at the Region 4 Finals today as the team was named Zone 4 Region 4 Reserve High Point Team.
First-year
Sadie Swift (Leonardtown, Md.) was crowned Region 4 High Point Rider after winning the open flat class.
Fellow first-year
Josie Flannery (Orange, Va.) also earned individual recognition after being named Region 4 Reserve High Point Rider.
Four more Vixens qualified for Zones following success in their classes of competition. Senior
Evelyn Clark (Crofton, Md.) was named Region 4 Reserve Champion in limit fences, senior
Sarah Pastula (Rockford, Mich.) was named
Region 4 Reserve Champion in intermediate fences, senior
Caitlyn Uimari (Marquette, Mich.) was named Region 4 Reserve Champion in novice flat and junior
Kendel Wickline (Frederick, Md.) was named Region 4 Champion in introductory.
Highlights
- Swift qualified for a spot in the Cacchione Cup final at Nationals.
- Clark, Flannery, Swift, Uimari and Wickline have all qualified for Zones for the first time in their collegiate careers.
- Pastula will make her second-straight appearance at Zone 4 Finals.
