SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team was crowned Reserve High Point Team following action, once again, at Mary Washington yesterday.

Also earning another title was first-year Josie Flannery (Orange, Va.), whose first-place finish in open flat and third-place finish in open fences earned her the title of High Point Rider.

Junior Madeleine Gardephe (New York, N.Y.), sophomore Natalia Alvini-Moore (Middletown, Del.) and first-years Tessa Hawks (Ashland, Va.) and Sadie Swift (Leonardtown, Md.) all topped their respective classes of introductory, novice flat, limit fences and open flat, respectively.

Senior Emma Evans (Chesapeake, Va.) placed second in novice flat, while sophomore Emily Viger (Springfield, Va.) saw a second-place finish in limit fences along with a fifth-place showing in limit flat.

First-year Sarah Chapin (Jamestown, N.C.) came third in both intermediate fences and intermediate flat competition.

An additional top-three finish for the Vixens were secured by junior Rory Breglio (Parker, Colo.) in intermediate fences.

Hawks and Swift saw additional action in the limit flat and open fences classes, respectively, and both placed fourth. First-year Cameron Hope (White Stone, Va.) captured fourth in limit flat.

Viger also competed in the limit flat class and placed fifth, while first-year Vivian Kosal (Washington, Mich.) finished fifth in intermediate flat.

Highlights

• Senior Leah Partington qualified for Regionals following a victory in the novice flat class.
• Flannery repeated her success of a first-place finish in open flat on Saturday, while Hawks also topped a competition class again yesterday, following her first-place finish on Saturday in the limit flat class.

What's Next
The Vixens will head to Liberty on Feb. 14th.
