SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College tennis team (2-10, 1-7 ODAC) fell 5-2 to the Randolph College WildCats (9-5, 3-4 ODAC) on April 17th at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center.
The match saw early victories in doubles, where Sweet Briar earned wins on the first two courts to take the point.
Seniors
Lucia Bovard (Mount Pleasant, N.C.) and
Alex Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) took down Combs/Gaalman on court one, 6-4, while junior
Maggie Minton (Wytheville, Va.) and sophomore
Ari Venturi (Richmond, Va.) saw a 6-3 victory over Cahue/Smith on court two.
The Vixens' only singles victory on the evening came at the hands of Minton at No. 3 singles. The Virginia native came back from a 7-5 loss in set one to take set two 6-4 and win the set three tiebreak 10-8.

- Sophomore Gianna Guadagno (Huntington Beach, Calif.) won her first collegiate game in set one of her match.
