HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (0-14, 0-8 ODAC) wrapped up the 2026 season at the Eastern Mennonite University Royals (2-13, 1-7 ODAC) this evening, falling by a score of 18-1.
EMU controlled the early pace in the first quarter, scoring three times in the opening 13 minutes before Sweet Briar finally answered at 00:02 on first-year
Lyndsay Davis' (Mocksville, N.C.) free-position finish. That goal gave Sweet Briar some momentum heading into the second quarter, but EMU quickly shut it down by scoring the first seven goals of the period.
EMU kept extending the margin in the second with balanced production from across its lineup, while the third quarter opened the same way, with EMU scoring twice more in the first three minutes to push the lead to 13-1. Sweet Briar managed to slow the tempo at times defensively, but the Eagles still added a free-position goal to make it 14-1 before the final period.
In the fourth quarter, Sweet Briar's defense continued to face heavy pressure, and sophomore goalkeeper
Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) kept working under siege in goal with a steady stream of saves. The Royals added four more goals to close out the 18-1 final.
Highlights
- Davis concludes the season as the team's leading goal scorer with nine.
- Seitz totaled 86 saves over 2026.
