WINCHESTER, Va. - The Sweet Briar cross country team competed in their second meet of the season this evening at Shenandoah University.
Sophomore
Elaina Sherline (Morehead City, N.C.) crossed the finish line first for the Vixens, placing 22nd with a time of 22:24.9. First-year
Lucy Pettigrew (Southlake, Texas) was not far behind with a time of 24:19.9.
First-year
Josie Crawford (Hampton, Va.) recorded a time of 28:19.6 while senior
Amanda Costa (Watertown, N.Y.) completed the 5k in 29:34.1.
Highlights
- Sherline earned a top-10 time in the program's 5k history.
- Pettigrew and Sherline both finished in the top 35 of the meet.

The Vixens will compete in the NCAA South Regional Preview in Charlottesville, Va. on Sept. 19th.
