The Vixen field hockey team fell to Eastern Mennonite today by a
score of 13-0. The Royals got on the board 15:44 into the
game by an unassisted goal from Alyssa Derstine. This started
the dominant play of the Royals whose 13th goal came with less then
2 minutes left in the game.
Three keepers were between the pipes today for the Vixens. Playing
the whole first half was sophomore goalkeeper Madeline Wilson
(Orange, Va.) who walked away from the game with 3 goals against
and 7 saves. Starting the second half was sophomore Emma Rakosky
(Ellicott City, Md.) who had 8 goals against and 3 saves. Rounding
out the game was first year Lori Kirkland (Glen Allen, Va.) who
played 10 minutes and walked away with 3 saves and 2 goals
against. The team had 5 defensive saves on the day.
The Vixens are back in action Wednesday when they head to Mary
Washington University for a 4:30 pm start.
