A Homecoming to Remember

It was not a lack of effort by the Vixens it was just not their day as Washington and Lee University went on to beat Sweet Briar 5-2.  The Vixens held the generals to a 0-0 game through half time but the second half proved a different game as Washington and Lee got on the board 8 minutes into the second half. The Vixens fought back and with a goal from sophomore Forward Ariel Yoder 8 minutes later tying the game at one goal apiece.

It appeared to be the Generals day going on a scoring streak adding four more goals to their tally. But Junior Lindsay Eneguess (Peterborough, N.H.)  showed that she was not done, by scoring off a beautiful chip shot to put the score at 5-2. It would stay that way for the rest of the game.

Leading the defense today was senior Sara Sheppard  (Virginia Beach, Va.) who lead by example coming up with the ball on numerous breakaways.  Also stepping up for the vixens was  sophomore  Alexandra St. Pierre (So.Hamilton, Mass.), who was able to create multiple opportunities around the cage and in the midfield. In goal for the Vixens was sophomore Madeline Wilson (Orange, Va.)  with 17 saves.
