The Sweet Briar field hockey team traveled to Virginia Beach to take on the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan College at the National Training Center. The Vixens met the Marlins under the lights for a 7:00pm game.

Vixen goalie Emma Rakosky played the full game in goal, allowing only two goals with nine saves for the night.  Considering the Marlins took a total of 21 shots, the defense held tough. The Marlins prevailed with the win 2-0.

"We lost 2-0 but I feel we played really well, the game was tied at the half.  We lost to this team 5-0 last year, so I see many  improvements from our team," said head coach Jess Lamina.

The Vixens will close out their season on the road against the Roanoke Maroons on Wednesday at 7pm.
