Vixens Snare Owls

Box Score

The Sweet Briar field hockey team exploded for six goals on Sunday to take down Bryn Mawr in a non-conference match played at Wilson College.

The scoring began just over halfway through the 1st half, when midfielder Alexandra St. Pierre ('11/So. Hamilton, Mass.) buried a penalty stroke in the back of the net for her 3rd goal of the season.   St. Pierre struck again, this time off an assist from fellow co-captain Lindsay Eneguess ('11/Peterborough, N.H.), to close to out the scoring for the first half.

The Vixens struck again less than five minutes into the 2nd half, as senior Alicia Modzelewski (Virginia Beach, Va.) scored a goal taking a feed from Dana Craft ('13/Derwood, Md.) .  Eneguess then struck with an unassisted goal with 10:58 remaining, followed quickly by a tally from freshman Loralei Whittaker (Chesapeake, Va.) off a corner.  Fellow freshman Morgan Harris (Chesapeake, Va.) rounded out the Vixen scoring, putting in a shot on a feed from Craft.

Goalkeepers Emma Rakosky ('12/Ellicott City, Md.) and Madeline Wilson ('12/Orange, Va.) combined to keep the Owls off the board.

The Vixens return to the field Saturday, September 25th as they host Bridgewater College at 1:30pm as part of Sweet Briar Homecoming.  Fans are reminded that parking will be limited, please plan ahead.  Also, the SBC Field Hockey Alumnae Game will be held following the Bridgewater match, fans are invited to stay and cheer on our alums!
