Box Score The Sweet Briar Field Hockey team dropped a 10-2 decision to the
Yeomen of Oberlin College in their home opener today at Thayer
Field. The Vixens fell to 0-2 on the young season, while
Oberlin improved to 2-0.
Transfer student Dana Craft
('13/Derwood, Md.) recorded her first two goals in a Vixen uniform,
leading the way offensively for the hosts. Craft scored an
unassisted tally in the first half, and was assisted by Lorelai
Whittaker ('14/Chesapeake, Va.) for her second goal. Laura Wolf
('11/Yorklyn, Del.) earned the start in goal, moving to the
mid-field for the second half as junior Emma Rakosky
(Ellicott City, Md.) took over in the net.
The Vixen defensive trio Alex St.Pierre (Jr./So. Hamilton,
Mass.), Maggie
McNamara (Sr./Arlington, Va.) and Julie Dophiede (So./Glen
Mills, Pa.) played well against a strong Yeoman attack.
The Vixens return to Thayer Field to take on Wittenberg College
tomorrow at 11am.
