The Sweet Briar field hockey team wrapped up its 2014 season at Washington & Lee on Wednesday, losing 4-0 to the Generals.

The Vixens were on the attack early, recording the first three shots of the game. Both Allison McLamb and Hannah Oybkhan were denied by W&L goalie Megan Axelrod, and first-year Soleiby Delcid had an attempt blocked.

McLamb then made a defensive save at the other end, stopping Abby Avery to keep the game scoreless.

Washington & Lee's Candice Stefanic scored twice in the first half for the hosts, with the second coming off a penalty corner, as Sweet Briar trailed 2-0 at the break.

The Generals also struck twice in 56 seconds early in the second half. Stefanic finished off her own rebound for the hat trick, and Lindsey Purpura capped the scoring right after.

Sweet Briar goalie Katie Torretti made nine saves to finish with 185 on the season, which leads the ODAC.

The Vixens finish the season with a record 1-16, 0-8 ODAC.
