Dooms Shines Against Eastern Mennonite

SWEET BRIAR, Va.- The Sweet Briar College field hockey team hosted Eastern Mennonite University on Tuesday afternoon for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference clash. The Royals came out victorious in the match, 7-0.

Playing her second game as goalkeeper as an emergency fill-in, senior Kayla Dooms kept the Vixens in the match all throughout. The Nelson County, Va. native made 23 huge saves against EMU.

Helping in the defensive efforts, senior Jessica Lusby picked up her tenth defensive save of the season. That total ties her with classmate Kiley Jolicoeur for the conference lead in defensive saves.

Sweet Briar will travel to Washington & Lee University on Thursday for their road finale, beginning at 7 p.m.

Senior Day for the Vixen field hockey team will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 29, when they host Randolph-Macon College. The match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start, with Senior Day festivities taking place beforehand.
