Box Score LEXINGTON, Va.- The Sweet Briar College field hockey team spent Thursday night at Washington & Lee University facing off against the Generals. W&L proved why it's the top scoring program in the ODAC and currently sitting second in the conference standings with an 11-0 victory.
This match was Sweet Briar's third in five days and is the final road game of 2016 for the field hockey program.
Senior Kayla Dooms played the first half in goal for SBC, making 10 saves in the effort. First-year Ashleigh Skipper took over in the second half and got her first action of the season in cage. The Chesapeake, Va. native made nine saves and only allowed three goals.
Kiley Jolicoeur continued her impressive play with two defensive saves. That's now 12 saves this year for the senior, which is tops in the ODAC and tied for fourth in all of Division III. Senior Jessica Lusby made her 11th defensive save of the season, good enough for second in the conference and sixth in the nation.
Senior Day for the Vixen field hockey team will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 29, when they host Randolph-Macon College. The match is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start, with Senior Day festivities taking place beforehand.
