Box Score SWEET BRIAR, Va.- For the final time in 2016, the Sweet Briar College field hockey team was in action, hosting Randolph-Macon College. An offensive explosion in the second half led the Yellow Jackets to an 8-0 victory.
Before the match, the field hockey team's five seniors were honored. Kiley Jolicoeur, Mary Kate Bailey, Jessica Lusby, Amanda Terry, and Kayla Dooms all played their final field hockey match as Vixens on Saturday.
Each senior entered the match having started at least 17 games for Sweet Briar, with Lusby leading the pack with 24 career starts. Jolicoeur is right behind with 23.
The duo of Lusby and Jolicoeur has also held together a valiant backline for head coach Hannah Lott. Both seniors have 13 defensive saves this season and will end their careers with 14 each. Those 13 defensive saves this season are tops in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and ranks the pair in the top-five nationally.
First-year Ashleigh Skipper started in goal for the first time this season, making 10 saves and only allowing three goals in her half of play. Dooms took over in the second half, making 10 saves as well.
Lusby and first-year Kierstan Mullins both finished with two defensive saves and Jolicoeur notched one.
Today's match concludes the field hockey teams season and they'll now focus on reloading for next year.
