Field Hockey Welcomes Lynchburg To Campus

SWEET BRIAR, Va.- A warm and sunny day on the campus of Sweet Briar College saw the Vixen field hockey team hosting the Lynchburg College Hornets. The Hornets emerged with an 18-0 conference win.

After scoring 10 first-half goals, the Hornets didn't hold back and continued with the offensive onslaught. Vixen keeper Emily Dodson was busy and valiant in goal all afternoon, making a career-best 23 saves.

Senior Amanda Terry stepped in and recorded two defensive saves in the effort and first-year Kierstan Mullins made one defensive save as well. Those saves bring Terry's season total up to four and Mullins up to three.

The resilient Vixens will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Eastern Mennonite University beginning at 2 p.m.
