Box Score SWEET BRIAR, Va.- Preseason is officially over and it's game time for the Sweet Briar College field hockey team. The Vixens opened their season at home by hosting the defending ODAC champion Bridgewater College Eagles.
The visiting Eagles got off to a quick start and kept up the pressure, emerging victorious, 13-0. Bridgewater controlled the pace of play throughout and limited the Vixens opportunities to push forward.
On the defensive end, senior Amanda Terry recorded a defensive save. Junior goalkeeper Emily Dodson played all 70 minutes in cage and finished the match with 15 saves.
The Vixens will get a day off before returning to action at Thayer Field on Saturday afternoon when Notre Dame University of Maryland comes to town for a 2:30 p.m. start.
