Field Hockey Opens Home Campaign Against Wilson

SWEET BRIAR, Va.- The Sweet Briar College field hockey team played its first home game of the season against Wilson College on Sunday afternoon. The Vixens fought hard all game long but fell to the Phoenix, 7-0.

First-year Rosemary Austin entered today's match leading the nation with 19.67 saves per game and lived up to the billing by making 20 saves for Sweet Briar. The Commerce Township, Mich. native made a number of wonderful kick saves and now has 138 saves on the season.

Caroline Trimmer worked alongside Erica Orr all afternoon to create offensive pressure for Sweet Briar on the counter-attack. Trimmer also led SBC with one shot.

The Vixens will return to action at Thayer Field this Wednesday when they host Roanoke College at 4 p.m.
