Box Score

SWEET BRIAR, Va.- The Sweet Briar College field hockey team kicked off the Families Weekend athletics doubleheader with a match against Virginia Wesleyan University. The Marlins netted six first-half goals on their way to a 13-0 victory.

Rosemary Austin was busy all day in the cage for SBC, making 34 saves in the losing effort. That save total is a new single-game best for the first-year out of Commerce Township, Mich. who entered the match leading NCAA Division III in saves per game.

The Vixens will hit the road to face off against Hood College for the second time this year on Oct. 27 before returning home for Senior Day and the season finale on Oct. 29.
