AURORA, N.Y. – Sweet Briar field hockey (9-5, 3-2 CSAC) easily took down the Wells Express (0-10, Independent) 6-1 on Saturday, Oct. 16.
After allowing the Express the lone first half goal early in the first quarter, the Vixens ramped up the offense in second half to take control of the game.
First-year
Jolin Daughety scored her first of three goals less than two minutes into the third quarter to tie the match up at one all.
Less than five minutes later, junior
Colleen Goodly (Yorktown, Va.) would find sophomore
Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) for the 2-1 lead.
Daughety and Jones would trade goals back-and-forth in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter to put Sweet Briar up 5-1.
First-year
Lauren Frank (Walton, N.Y.) tallied a goal as time expired to help the Vixens earn a 6-1 victory.

- Daughtey tallied her first hat trick of her Sweet Briar career.
- All three goalkeepers for the Vixens, senior Janie Bolling (Hereford, Md.) and first-years Trina Kinnevy (West Creek, N.J.) and Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.), saw action in today's match.
