BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Sweet Briar field hockey (13-7, 4-3 CSAC) ended its regular season with an 8-0 victory over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Bryn Athyn (0-12, 0-7 CSAC) today.
Junior
Colleen Goodly (Yorktown, Va.) broke the scoreless match at the 16:22 mark, beating the Lions goalkeeper off an assist from fellow junior
Ingrid Kalwitz Blanco (Antofagasta, Chile).
Goodly's goal was followed up by one from sophomore
Brynna Hughes (Richmond, Va.), who gave the Vixens the 2-0 lead entering the half.
Third-quarter action saw the Sweet Briar offense begin to show its dominance with five goals in less than six minutes. Sophomore
Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) got the scoring party started with her first of the game less than a minute in.
Twenty seconds later, first-year
Jolin Daughety (Williamsburg, Va.) found Kalwitz Blanco to put the Vixens up 4-0. Daughety would follow that assist up with a goal of her own and two more goals from first-year
Kailey McCarthy (Atkinson, N.H.) and Jones brought the score to 7-0.
Goodly would tally her second of the game to give Sweet Briar the final 8-0 victory.
