Junior Sarah Schindler (Charlotte, N.C.) scored an unassisted goal with 19:17 left in the first half, while first-year Jess Roberts (Woodbury, N.Y.) found the back of the net with five minutes remaining before halftime to give Sweet Briar (1-5) a 3-1 lead.

Wilson broke the Sweet Briar scoring streak to pull the scoreline to 3-2 in Sweet Briar's favor, but Bailey notched her second goal of the game with 1:52 left in the first half to send the teams to the break with Sweet Briar holding the 4-2 advantage.

The Phoenix opened the second half scoring to pull within one, but Bailey rattled off three-straight goals over the next ten minutes giving the Vixens a 7-3 lead.
