FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Sweet Briar dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 15 Mary Washington on Wednesday afternoon at the Ed Hegmann Tennis Complex.

The Vixens (7-3) kept things close at No. 1 doubles as sophomores Ruth de Souza and Allison Wandling fell 8-4 to Mary Washington's (3-1) Abby Moghtader and Lauren Quinn.

Singles action saw de Souza fall 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 to Moghtader, while sophomore Kate Kotany won two games at No. 3.

Wandling and first-year Isabela Guilarte won one game each at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.

Sweet Briar returns to action on Thursday, March 25, with a 3 p.m. scheduled opening serve at Mary Baldwin.
