LYNCHBURG, Va. — Senior goalkeeper Rosemary Austin made a season-high 16 saves on Tuesday evening, as the Vixens fell 2-0 to Lynchburg at Shellenberger Field.
The Hornets (10-0), who recently won the ODAC Tournament, scored the eventual game-winner in the seventh minute as Faith Seery found the back of the cage.
Lynchburg scored an insurance goal in the 56th minute when Brittany Claybaugh assisted a goal by Aaryn Boatwright.
Austin (Commerce Township, Mich.) tallied 16 saves in goal for the Vixens (2-5), while junior Brigitte Gorman (Chesapeake, Va.) recorded a defensive save. First-year Brynna Hughes (Richmond, Va.) took the Vixens' lone shot on the night.
Sweet Briar wraps up the spring 2021 season on Sunday, April 25, with a 1 p.m. home game against Wilson at Amherst County High School.
