FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association announced on Friday that 15 Sweet Briar riding student-athletes have been recognized as recipients of the IHSA National All-Academic Award.
IHSA recognized 11 Vixens as first-team honorees, while four earned recognition as second-team recipients.
Sophomores Sita Moses (Dublin, N.H.) and Madeline Rucker (Midlothian, Va.) earned first-team honors for the second-straight season.
Earning recognition as first-team honorees for the first time in their Sweet Briar careers were: junior Victoria Kaciuba (Brooklyn, N.Y.), junior Ella Leichty (Harrisonburg, Va.), sophomore Shannon Huth (Greensboro, N.C.), first-year Ellie Bachmann (St. Louis, Mo.), first-year Amy Berta (Woodbridge, Va.), first-year Shannon Carter (King George, Va.), first-year Nina Hugi (Chicago, Ill.) and first-year Kelsey Prior (Chesterfield, Va.).
Sophomore Sarah Lloyd (Brewster, N.Y.) earned a first-team nod after being named a second-team honoree as a first-year.
Senior Hannah Inman (Monroe, Maine) was a second-team recipient for the second time, while senior Hannah Neal (Waynesboro, Pa.), junior Jesseca Ballard (Leicester, N.C.) and sophomore Anne Rucker (Midlothian, Va.) each became second-team honorees for the first time.
