HANOVER, N.H. – The No. 2 Sweet Briar NCEA team (1-1, 1-1 ECAC) handily took down No. 4 Dartmouth (0-2) on the road today by a score of 7-1.
Reigning Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Flat Rider of the Week senior
Kacie Freeburg (Orlando, Fla.) once again excelled in the flat competition. Freeburg scored a 92 on Prophet, 12 points more than her Big Green competitor, to nab her second-straight Most Outstanding Performer nod.
Also earning points for the Vixens in flat competition were sophomore
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) and first-year
Wyette Felton (Canton, Ga.) who received scores of 92 and 94, respectively.
Leading 3-1 heading into the fences portion of the meet, Sweet Briar swept the event to earn all four points.
Junior
Emmy Longest (Hanover, Va.) was named MOP after her 81-point win on Babalou. Sophomore
Isabelle Mesiarik (Pottstown, Pa.) continues to remain undefeated in fences competition after a win with Chica thanks to her score of 75.
Felton and Atherton helped complete the sweep with their second point of the meet after earning a 72 on Delinda and an 80 on Alvarino.
Highlights
- Felton earned a victory in flat in her first collegiate outing in that event.
- Sweet Briar now leads the all-time series against Dartmouth 1-0.
