RALEIGH, N.C. – Sweet Briar field hockey (4-6, 0-1 CSAC) remains perfect in the all-time series against Meredith (0-8, 0-0 USA South) after taking down the Avenging Angels 4-1 tonight.
Three of the Vixens' four goals came in the first quarter of play with junior
Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) getting on the scoresheet first at the 7:38 mark.
Almost four minutes later Sweet Briar's lead would increase to two thanks to a tally from sophomore
Jolin Daughety (Williamsburg, Va.).
Jones' second of the game off a penalty corner play with time expiring in the first quarter would close out the first-half scoring.
Meredith earned the third quarter's lone goal, getting on the board less than three minutes into the action.
However, sophomore
Molly Booth (Orono, Maine) would put the final nail in the coffin with an assist from fellow sophomore
Lara Jost (Würzburg, Germany) to bring the match to its 4-1 conclusion.
