FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Sweet Briar tennis concluded play at the ITA Division III Women's Southeast Regional Championships today at Mary Washington with senior Allison Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) competing in the consolation quarterfinals of the Championship draw.
 
Wandling took on Zoe Angell of Carnegie Mellon, a team which finished last season ranked No. 11 in the nation, but came up short by a score of 8-2.
 
Highlights

• Sweet Briar advanced to play on the final day of the tournament for the second-straight year.
• The doubles team of Caro/Simhambhatla went 3-0 in their bracket to leave Fredericksburg as undefeated champions.
• Junior Isabela Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) advanced to the final of the Blue B bracket.
• Andrade/Patino and de Souza/Wandling advanced to the Round of 16 in doubles play while while senior Ruth de Souza (Marilia, Brazil) saw action in the quarterfinals for the second-straight year.

Sweet Briar will be back on the court at the CNU Invite, Oct. 14-16 and the Battle of the Blue Ridge on Oct. 15.
