BALTIMORE, Md. – The Sweet Briar tennis team ended its fall season with a dominating 26-1 performance at the Goucher Invitational today.
 
The Vixens totaled seven of their 20 wins on the day in doubles while the final 13 came in singles play.
 
The doubles pairing of Andrade/Patino went 3-0 with wins over Lebanon Valley, Stockton and Goucher, while I. Guilarte/Bovard went 2-0 against Gettysburg and Stockton.
 
First-year doubles team Bestwick/Chen took down Groen/Rocio (Stockton) and Miner/Halsey (LVC) by scores of 4-3, 4-1 and 6-1, 6-2, respectively.
 
In singles play, all of Sweet Briar's singles players, seniors Ruth de Souza (Marilia, Brazil), Allison Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.), Nikhita Simhambhatla (Hyderabad, Telangana, India) and Kate Kotany (Erd Hungary), sophomore Maria Caro (Bogota, Colombia) and first-year Alex Guilarte (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) went undefeated with a 3-0 record.
 
Highlights

• I. Guilarte/Bovard defeated Brignati/Dondes (Gettysburg), 4-0, 4-0.
• de Souza didn't drop a single game in her match with Anna Degman (4-0, 4-0).
• Kotany was perfect in her 4-0, 4-0 win over Madeline Zech (Ramapo).
• A. Guilarte also secured a 4-0, 4-0 victory over Jenna Muttik (Immaculata).

What's Next
With the conclusion of the fall season, the Vixens will now look ahead to the spring.
