SWEET BRAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (0-1, 0-0 CSAC) saw two players record career firsts in the team's 16-10 loss to the Randolph College WildCats (1-1, 0-0 ODAC) this afternoon at Thayer Field.
The WildCats earned the advantage early on, scoring four-straight at the start. Sophomore
Valen Foster's (Bushwood, Md.) tally at the 5:57 mark in the first quarter would get the Vixens on the board.
However, another four-goal scoring run by Randolph to end the first and start the second quarters would increase their lead to seven.
Sweet would find its offensive fire power in the second, scoring six-straight thanks to first-years
Sofia Martinez-Tomatis (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and
Victoria Schofield (Towson, Md.) and foster to cut down the lead to one.
The WildCats pulled away again with to more goals to close out the second, but two tallies from Martinez-Tomatis and one from Schofield would tie the game up at 10 all.
Six unanswered goals from the visiting team would bring the game to its 16-10 close.
Defensively, junior goalkeeper
Kat Navarro (Carlsbad, Calif.) recorded 14 saves, one shy of her career-high.
Junior defender
Jamison Tarver (Kingwood, Texas) led the team with four caused turnovers and four ground balls.

What's Next
Sweet Briar will take on both Brevard and Muskingum at home next week on March 6 and March 9, respectively.
