Lacrosse Handed Loss by Notre Dame (Md.)

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team (1-7, 0-3 CSAC) came up short today against the Notre Dame of Maryland University Gators (2-9, 0-2, CSAC), falling by a score of 17-2.
 
The home team had a dominating first quarter of play, tallying eight-straight to start the game before the Vixens got on the board.
 
Sophomore Valen Foster's (Bushwood, Md.) woman up goal with the seconds ticking away in the first was Sweet Briar's first of the game.
 
Foster also scored the Vixens' only other goal in the game. Tallying an unassisted goal at the 6:13 mark in the second quarter to bring the score to 12-2.
 
Five more goals by Notre Dame would bring the game to its 17-2 close.
 
Highlights
  • Junior goalkeeper Kat Navarro (Carlsbad, Calif.) recorded 10 saves on the day.
  • Sophomore Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) led the team in ground balls with four.
  • Junior Renée Taylor (York, Pa.) totaled a team-high two caused turnovers and two draw controls.
What's Next
The team will head to Bryn Athyn on Tuesday, April 18 for action starting at 5 p.m.
