Soccer Defeats Gallaudet as Two Vixens Earn First Career Goals

WASHINGTON, D.C. -  The Sweet Briar College soccer team (1-3-0) defeated the Gallaudet University Bison (3-3-0, 0-0-0 United East) tonight by a score of 5-0 as two Vixens netted their first career goals.

Junior Jillian Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.) got Sweet Briar on the board less than five minutes into the game when she converted on a free kick.

Lewis would go on to find the back of the net off another free kick a little over ten minutes later to increase the lead to two.

The Vixens closed out the first half of play with another tally thanks to junior Natalie Cockey's (Oxford, Md.) first of her career.

First-year Alexis Diaz (Connelly Springs, N.C.) would convert on a shot 30 yards out to bring the score to 4-0.

Fellow first-year Abby Bryant (Morganton, N.C.) scored her first collegiate goal off a pass from Diaz while on the break at the 56:31 mark for the 5-0 lead.

Time would eventually run out with no additional tallies from either team to bring the game to its 5-0 close.
