SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College IHSA team saw action at Region 4 Finals today at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center with seven Vixen riders advancing to Zone 4 Finals in April.
Both senior
Katelyn Jones (Richmond, Texas) and junior
Emily Roberts (Goochland, Va.) earned their spots at Zones thanks to first-place finishes in limit fences and novice flat, respectively.
Four second-place finishes were earned by junior
Ash Burnett (Smyrna, Del.) in novice flat and sophomores
Rachel Chard (Avon, Conn.) in intermediate flat,
Ainsley John Darling (Virginia Beach, Va.) in introductory flat and
Audrey Flattich (Statesboro, Ga.) in limit flat to extend their season.
Rounding out the field of Zone qualifiers for Sweet Briar was junior
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) whose finish of third in open fences also earned her a spot at the show in April.
Senior
Sarah Southard (Culpeper, Va.) and sophomore
Lauren Satola (Fulton, Md.) were also in action today and both placed fifth in limit flat and intermediate flat, respectively.
Highlights
- Sweet Briar will have the highest number of riders competing at Zone 4 Finals in program history.
- Atherton, Burnett, Chard, Darling, Flattich, Jones and Roberts have all qualified for Zones for the first time in their careers.

The Vixens will host Zone 4 Finals at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center on April 6th.
